Voluntary sustainability targets

Our company has long had a dedicated sustainability team focused on a responsible approach to business, with respect for the environment, society, and the efficient use of resources.

The team works on improvement proposals and develops ideas originating both from employees and from its own initiatives. In November last year, a regular meeting with selected employees took place, with sustainability as the main topic.

One of the key points on the agenda was the evaluation of the voluntary sustainability targets we set for the period 2020–2025. At the same time, we also introduced new targets looking ahead to 2030.

Now that the 2025 period has been concluded, I would like to share the positive results we have achieved and present the new voluntary targets for the next period.

2020–2025 EVALUATION

  1. Reduction in potable water consumption by 50% – achieved: 58%
    • Decommissioning of cooling towers for technologies B310 and B26 – Chropyně
    • Replacement of potable water with well water for toilets in buildings B13 and B24 – Napajedla
    • Elimination and prevention of leaks in connections – Napajedla
    • Discontinuation of PPF production – Napajedla
  2. Reduction of CO₂ emissions by 30% – achieved: 34%
    • Transition to an in-house heat source for building heating – Napajedla
    • Connection of KW technology to the COM1 hot oil boiler plant – Napajedla
    • Modernisation of air handling systems in building B24 – Napajedla
    • Discontinuation of PPF production vs. consumption of the new rolling mill – Napajedla
  3. Reduction of PVC/PES waste sent to landfill by 150 tonnes – achieved: 238 tonnes (Jan–Sep 2025)
  4. Eco-friendly packaging of flooring products in tiles – achieved by switching to environmentally friendly paper cartons for LVT tile packaging

Based on the above, we can conclude that all targets have been met and significant progress has been made in environmental protection.

2025–2030 – NEW TARGETS

  1. Increase the share of circular materials used from 35% to 40%
  2. Reduce CO₂ emissions by 10 kilotonnes
    • By purchasing zero-emission energy (50% share), we will reduce our carbon footprint and prevent CO₂ emissions
  3. Reduce sub-surface water consumption by 28%
    • By constructing a retention tank, we will be able to use 20,000 m³ of rainwater and thus reduce groundwater withdrawal

By setting voluntary sustainability targets, we reaffirm the importance of this topic in the future direction of our company.

We clearly demonstrate that we take environmental protection and the principles of sustainable business seriously. At the same time, we reinforce one of our core values – we care about the world around us.
